Are you a dynamic and innovative mind in the field of biomedical engineering specifically, blood physiology? We are on the lookout for a talented individual with the relevant background to join the multidisciplinary Hridyantra team at IIT Kanpur for a ground-breaking project on the development of a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) - a revolutionary heart assist blood pump.

Position: Project Scientist

Location: IIT Kanpur

Salary Range: 31600 – 2600 – 78400

About the Project

Mission Hridyantra is at the forefront of developing a cutting-edge LVAD with the ultimate goal of launching it into the market following successful animal and clinical trials. As a team member, you will play a pivotal role of conducting in-vitro tests in a hemolysis loop leading to animal trials, working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

Essential Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Physiology or a relevant field,

or M. Tech/M. Sc with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of Human Anatomy & Physiology

Biomedical Instrumentation

Human Blood collection and handling

Biochemical assays including spectrophotometry, ELISA, and fluorescence etc.

Biocompatibility, Biosafety, and Toxicology testing of Medical Devices

In-vitro experiments

Desirable Skills:

B. Sc. with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Biomaterials Engineering

Animal handling and preclinical testing protocols

Knowledge of biostatistics and bioinformatic tools

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the team in the development of biocompatible surface for the LVAD.

Conduct in-vitro tests with human blood.

Developing mock circulatory loops to be utilized in various test setups.

Contribute to LVAD development by actively engaging with the manufacturing team.

Participation in the multidisciplinary tasks associated with the LVAD.

Plan the next stage animal trials.
