SMSS Laboratory, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur is developing an Autonomous Robot with deployable Drones to conduct periodic inspections of Critical Power Infrastructures such as Substations. The team is seeking passionate and motivated engineers to work in the field of Electronics and Sensor integration in Robotics the project entitled, ““Design and Development of an Integrated Inspection Framework comprising of UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles) with deployable UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) for Critical Power infrastructure inspection” fundedby Ministry of Power.
Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow
Salary: INR 37,000 (per month consolidated)
Minimum Qualification: Graduate (GATE qualified) /Post Graduate Degree in Engineering through any national eligibility test (GATE/ CSIR-NET) in relevant fields (EE/EECS/ Mechatronics, Instrumentation)
Desirable Skillset:
- Background in working with sensors, transducers and electronic components for robots
- Good foundation on electronics systems testing and debugging
- Experience with PCB design is desirable (PROTEUS etc. Or equivalent)
- Exposure in working with sensor programming and integration using SBCs (RPis, Jetson etc.) is desirable.
- Background in microcontroller and microprocessor programming (knowledge of embedded systems is a plus)
- Good presentation, report preparation and inter-personal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
