On the 14th of December 2023, A UCSC delegation consisting of Prof. Becky George, Assistant Vice Provost of Global Engagement, Prof. Raja GuhaThakurta, Chair, Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Dr. P. K. Agarwal, Dean, UCSC Silicon Valley Extension and Mr. John Pine, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Alumni Relations recently met with an IIT Kanpur delegation at New Delhi , where they engaged in fruitful discussions with Prof. S Ganesh, Director of the institute, and Professor Dhirendra S. Katti, Dean of International Relations and Prof. Kantesh Balani, Dean of Resources and Alumni.

The meeting centered on fostering academic collaboration, including plans for faculty exchange, student exchange programs, and collaborative research initiatives between UCSC and IIT Kanpur. Such partnerships are vital for enriching the academic experience and promoting global knowledge exchange.
