Strugnell, Microbiology and Immunology, Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences; Prof. Priyan Mendis, ARC Centre for Advanced Manufacturing of Prefabricated Housing, Infrastructure Engineering; Prof. Jagannath Aryal, Lead, Earth Observation and AI Research Group, Infrastructure Engineering; Prof. Surinder Singh Chauhan, Deputy Director Melbourne India Postgraduate Academy (MIPA), Agriculture, Food and Ecosystem Sciences; Prof. Lu Aye, Lead, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Group, Infrastructure Engineering; Dr. Vera Korasidis, Elizabeth and Vernon Puzey Fellow, Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciencesand Ms. Daniela Reichert, International Partnership Management met with a delegation from IIT Kanpur, led by Prof. S. Ganesh, Director, Prof. Dhirendra S. Katti, Dean of International Relations, Prof. Tarun Gupta, Dean of Research and Development; Prof. Sandeep Verma, Professor in Charge (Head), Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology, Prof. Samit Ray Chaudhuri, Dean of Infrastructure and Planning; and other faculty members from the Institute.
Prof. S. Ganesh welcomed everyone and initiated the meeting. The presentations delivered by Prof. Tarun Gupta, Prof. Sandeep Verma, and Prof. Dhirendra S. Katti were not only informative but also brimming with innovative ideas and vision for the future of the IITK-UoM relationship. The discussions on research collaboration covered multiple areas including renewable energy, climate change, water quality monitoring, remote sensing, medical technological advancements, and a proposal for a joint centre for advanced research and education.
The initiative aims to significantly impact future research and education at UoM and IITK.
